The S12 doesn’t seem nearly as common in our collective consciousness as the AE86. Even though the two are very visually similar, there’s something about the S12’s proportions that appeals to me more. It seems a bit longer, the fastback - faster. Or maybe it’s just the rarity factor. Modified examples for balance:
Which one would you rather? I’ve driven neither, so it’s all aesthetics for me. If you’ve driven one or both, what are they like?

AE86. My friend had a V6 200sx and it was heavy and awkward. AE86 was like a ballerina.

I prefer the 86, preferably in 2 door form. It’s lighter, more agile, cleaner looking and has a much better engine than the S12 does.
